Help along the way

Book coaching, or story coaching, is like having a developmental editor, accountability coach, and cheerleader, all wrapped into one tidy package.

We meet regularly (weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly) to discuss progress on your book.

It’s one hour in which we focus on your writing, your story, and your concerns. We can discuss plotting, planning, character arc, theme, publishing – anything that is coming up for you regarding your story.

I stand by your side, offering wisdom, encouragement, and practical strategies to overcome the hurdles of writing. This ongoing support is tailored to your unique journey, helping you stay aligned with your creative vision, maintain momentum, and navigate the mystical world of storytelling with confidence and grace.

Book coaching can be good for the occasional one-off brainstorming session, to work through a single sticky issue, or to meet regularly, building an ongoing relationship with someone who knows your story well and can help you every step along the way –

from planning to plotting to writing to editing to publishing.

Things we might do in a book coaching session:

Brainstorm ideas for your novel

Tackle a sticky plot point that you’re struggling with

Figure out how to drop some red herrings into your mystery novel

Flesh out your character’s backstory

Talk about character arcs

Debate the merits of that dual POV setup you have going

Figure out what your theme is

Discuss comp titles

Workshop your pitch package

Talk about whether you should traditionally publish or self publish

Things that happen between book coaching sessions:

I will review up to 3k words of your writing before each session.

Also, you may have homework assignments from me.

$100 per session

Each coaching session includes up to 3,000 words of manuscript review as part of your prep.

If you’d like me to review more than that, additional reading time is billed at $0.0045 per word (Approximately $20–$30 for most chapters).

This rate reflects reading for coaching prep, which is different from a manuscript evaluation. Coaching feedback is given during our session rather than as a written editorial letter.

Coaching Retainer Plans

Choose the path that best supports your story. Each session comes with personalized Story Pathways—guided reflections and writing prompts that I review before our next meeting, so you always return with fresh insight and direction.

Guiding Star Plan – $100/month

One luminous session each month to help you navigate challenges, clarify your next steps, and keep your story aligned with its heart. Perfect for writers who want gentle accountability and a trusted guide to light the way.

Steady Quill Plan – $175/month

Two sessions each month for steady progress and rhythm. With biweekly guidance and Story Pathways, you’ll nurture momentum without overwhelm, growing in confidence as your manuscript takes shape.

Wise Owl Plan – $300/month

Weekly coaching (specifically, four sessions per month) for writers ready to commit fully to their draft or revision. You’ll gain consistent support, deep feedback, and the accountability to transform intention into a finished manuscript, with clarity, joy, and wisdom guiding you at every step.

All plans are month-to-month. No long-term commitment required! Stay as long as you’re finding value, and pause when you need to. If you don’t use all your sessions, they are forwarded to the next month.

Group Sessions

Is this more than you can afford? Do you prefer to meet in a group?

Well, grab a friend or four and schedule a session together. I’ll meet with up to five participants at once, and split the fee amongst all of y’all.

Working through the Blueprint process with Angie really helped me take my jumble of thoughts and turn them into a meaningful and logical outline. I’ve used the inside outline in every stage of the writing process – from plotting, to drafting and all the way through revisions. The deep thought and insight Angie brought to my outline really helped remotivate me and made my novel a richer, more cohesive work.
